I was interviewed…

What’s your favorite “me time” activity? Why?
“My favorite “me time” is hangin with my “Girlz” (the girlfriends), and my fav place to do that is at the Beach! I need to do it more often! My Girlz make me laugh, they energize my spirit….they inspire me with their heart(s) and how amazingly resilient each of them are in their lives! We always have fun and are able to be our true “spirits” around each other…which of course draws others to us! Just having FUN is so important and so I guess my fav “me time”…is fun with the “Girlz”.
* Where did you grow up, and how has that defined you?
This is quite a deep question…lol…I have to say that part of me was defined by the friendships and lessons that took place while I lived in Buffalo. I have great parents, that where (and still are) strong role models…strong enough to “let me fall” and strong enough to tell me to “pick myself up and dust myself off” and get back on the path….so I learned early on to have a positive outlook and I know that my Dad told me that I could do ANYTHING….anything that I put my mind and heart to! My friends helped me learn to have fun, laugh… be loyal…. Oh…and I still hate to shovel snow! HA…well in fact …I heard a little quip years ago…”if my car can’t drive through it…I don’t think I should have to “move” it…I am far less powerful than my car!”…I was a changed women! I resolved to never shovel again…well now I live South…so no worries!
* How do you keep your optimistic spirit?
I think it goes back to my childhood. I don’t’ think we ever where complainers…and I just don’t attract that kind of person ….and when you don’t have “Debbie Downer” calling you every day…it is pretty easy to see the brighter side of your own life! I have had a few “tough times” and at this point in my life..I can honestly…whole heartedly say…I would not trade those experiences for anything…each of them…although seemingly disastrous at the time…caused me to turn down paths that led to the best of the best experiences of my life…so I have grown wiser…and I just “give in” to the fact that there are really no bad result to an experience…it is the attitude that makes them have a good or bad outcome. I hope that everyone lives long enough…to “get this”! When you expect things to turn out great …or better yet…KNOW that they will turn out great and exactly as they should…it comes second nature to be optimistic!
* How would you spend your time if you won The Lottery (it’s in capitals because I ain’t talking about scratch-offs – I’m talking about The Lottery!)?
At the Beach…easy answer…well first I would make sure my family had no financial worries of any kind first! Then I would live at a BIG HUGE BEACH house or 2….perhaps one in Myrtle Beach and one in San Diego….I would travel to visit friends. I would still do my job…but maybe not as many hours a week/month. I would perhaps replace that time with helping animals somehow…they need people to look out for their best interest (financially and physically) …. It would be great to help take care of the critters that need the most help.
* What’s your favorite quote and why?
I have many, but today I offer this one…
“When in doubt, show up early. Think less. Feel more. Ask once. Give thanks often. Expect the best. Appreciate everything. Never give up. Make it fun. Lead. Invent. Regroup. Wink. Chill. Smile. And live as if your success was inevitable, and so it shall be.”
